It is web standards compliant allowing XHTML, table or CSS layout. i.content® engine based on web parts, is easily integrated with custom code through browser or Visual Studio and is easily deployed from development to live server. WYSIWYG editor

The built-in WYSIWYG editor enables content editors to edit content like if they were using a word processor like Microsoft® Word. It features:

• basic or advanced formatting
• insertion of uploaded images
• linking to other pages or external files and sites

Page templates

Page templates created by web designers and re-used by content editors for multiple pages with similar layout. Page templates contain editable regions where content editors enter the text and images.

Multiple Sites

i.content® allows you to manage multiple web sites. This is great if you need to run several sites that are managed by the same group of users. A typical example is a set of web sites that present different products of a single company.

The multi-site approach is also useful if you want to save money for hosting smaller web sites - you can run several independent web sites with different designs.

Content Scheduling and Archiving

You can specify when the document should be published and when it expires. A document can be archived so that it's no longer displayed on the web, but it's still stored in the content repository.

Workflow and versioning

Workflow allows you to safely and effectively manage the process of content creation and modifications. Each business or organisation is different. We can set up a tailored workflow process to suit your needs.

Versioning

i.content® stores all previous versions of the pages so that the editors can view them and easily roll back to a previous version.

No Limits in Design and Layout

With i.content®, you can create web sites with any structure, navigation, design and layout. You can use both table- and CSS-based layout (CSS positioning) depending on what you prefer.

Dynamic Sitemap

With i.content®, the site map displays the structure of the web site. It's completely dynamic - when you add a new page, it's automatically displayed on the site map.

Breadcrumb Navigation

i.content® can automatically generate breadcrumbs which show the current position of the visitor on the web site. The breadcrumbs reflect the current URL and the position of the page in the content tree in the site map.

Full-text Search

With i.content® full-text search provides you the search functionality to search the i.content® database content and (optionally) the uploaded files. You can choose to search for exact phrase, any word or all words.

Friendly URLs

i.content® allows you to build search engine friendly web sites that can be easily indexed by Google and other search engines.

Every page on your web site automatically has its unique URL that reflects the position of the page in the content tree, such as:

• http://www.mydomain.com/products/brand.aspx
• http://www.mydomain.com/products/brand
• http://www.mydomain.com/products/brand.html

As you can see, the URL doesn't contain any extra parameters, such as ?tabid=1234 that might not be understood by the search engine robot. You can also choose which characters should be replaced in the URL and the replacement character - e.g. you can choose that spaces are replaced with dash (-) in the URL.

The standard URL extension (.aspx, .html, etc.) depends on your choice and it may require changes made to your web site configuration on IIS (except for the .aspx extension that is supported automatically in the standard IIS configuration).

Custom URLs

When you need to create a unique URL for example for some marketing campaign, with i.content® you can define a custom URL for that is independent on its position in the site structure.

For example, you could use:
http://mydomain.com/brand instead of http://mydomain.com/products/phones/brand.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Support

i.content® supports SEO in several ways:

• Each document managed by i.content® can have its own page title, description and keywords that are rendered in the page header
• You can add ALT and TITLE attributes to images/links
• You can build CSS-based menu navigation that uses only UL/LI elements without any JavaScript and is easy to follow by search engine robots
• You can customize the friendly URL and custom URLs so that they contain the required key words
• You can use H1, H2, etc. elements in the WYSIWYG editor
• You can build XHTML-compliant site, which may also improve the search engine indexing and page rank.

What i.content® does for accessibility:

• It renders valid XHTML code
• It supports the use of CSS-based layout (instead of inaccessible table layout)
• It supports CSS-based menus that renders the menu from structural elements <ul> and <li> and can be highly customized using CSS styles. This kind of menu can be easily followed by users of screen readers
• It supports dynamic rendering of site map
• It supports friendly, easy-to-read and describing URLs
• It supports custom page title, keywords and metadata section for every page
• It allows content editors to enrich the text (links, images) with additional alt/title information that improves accessibility
